A Book, a Word…

…and a New Perspective

Hello Everyone!

I recently had a delightful encounter with a book, thanks to my curious one-and-a-half-year-old son. Our family has a bit of a book obsession—we love collecting them. Whether it’s from a friend’s recommendation, a radio show, a magazine ad, or those tempting displays at the airport, we just can’t resist. However, I must admit, many of these books remain unread, gathering dust on our shelves.

But then, my little explorer found a hidden gem in our collection. He’s at that adorable age where everything is a new discovery, including a cabinet full of books. He often mimics us, pretending to read. One morning, I picked up the book he had pulled out, titled “Focus: How One Word A Week Will Transform Your Life.” Intrigued, I decided to read the first week’s word over my morning coffee.

The concept is simple: focus on one word each week, letting it guide and inspire your thoughts and actions. Surprisingly, this small habit has started to bring subtle changes to my life. It’s like setting a tiny, intentional goal that colors your entire week.

People often choose a word for the year, a practice I’ve seen with New Year’s resolutions and vision boards. My word last year was “joy.” This year, I hadn’t picked one—until now. It seems my son, with his innocent curiosity, has nudged me toward a new habit. Whether it’s a cosmic hint or just a happy coincidence, I’m embracing this practice of weekly words.

Now, I’m curious—do you have a word that guides you? What is it, and why did you choose it? I would love to hear your stories and maybe even get inspired by your choices.

Until next time! 💜
